Free Stuff - Manufacturers & Merchants
Phoenix Nail Works

Phoenix Nail Works. Poulson's American Daily Advertiser. Philadelphia, PA. 1818.
"Will be offered at Public Sale, At the Merchants' Coffee House on Tuesday evening, April 28, at 7 0'clock." Apprently the Mail manufacturing business was in a down-turn? Along with the nails, the public sale included the dam, mill-race, rolling slitting mill, a grist mill, a saw mill, a mansion house, a barn, stables, a school house, coopers, carpenters and blacksmiths shops and 14 dwelling houses.

What I find interesting is that the headline for this public sail is for the Nail Works. My hunch is that the nail works was by and large the most desirable of all the properties and enterprises.
